God has given us a sacred opportunity and a great responsibility to nurture and protect all people involved in our ministries. For this reason, Willow Glen UMC has established procedures to provide a safe and supportive place for children, youth and vulnerable adults as well as the persons who work with them, and to provide protection from abuse on our campus and in our programs.
We ask that all volunteers working directly with children, youth and vulnerable adults in our programs (including Vacation Bible School, the Joint Youth Ministry and the Village House shelter) complete a Volunteer Disclosure and have fingerprints taken for a background check. Volunteer drivers will also need to complete a Driver Application and submit proof of insurance.
Electronic fingerprinting can be done at the sheriff's office (appointments necessary) or at many local mail businesses.
By law, organizations cannot share background check results. If you have been fingerprinted for another organization, we apologize for the inconvenience but we do need you to be fingerprinted again so we receive the report directly.
